Common questions

Why is the probability number the highest one, not an average?

Because the day she actually ovulated is the one thing the app cannot know. Ovulation moves by several days between cycles even in women who consider themselves regular, so the app works the odds out across a spread of plausible ovulation days rather than betting on one. That produces a range — and the app shows you the top of it, on purpose.

The true chance may be lower, but nothing in the data entitles you to assume it is. Plan for the number on screen.

It won't let me past the date questions

If the encounter date falls outside the cycle you described — before the period start, or more than one cycle length after it — the app stops and asks you to check the dates instead of calculating.

This is deliberate and it is not an error on your part. To work the odds out, the app needs the period start immediately before that night, not necessarily her most recent one. A stale period date would otherwise produce a confidently low number for an encounter the data cannot actually cover.

How do I delete what I've logged?

Tap any logged day in the tracker again to unlog it. Swipe a saved estimate to delete it. Deleting the app removes its database entirely. Nothing is stored anywhere else — see the privacy policy.

Does my data go anywhere?

Nothing you enter does. As of version 1.0 the app has no analytics and no accounts, and no answer, date, estimate or logged period is ever sent anywhere. It stores the period start dates you log yourself, any estimate you deliberately save, a record of which version of the legal notice you accepted and when, and three settings — whether the app lock is on, whether Extras has been unlocked, and your period-length setting — all on your iPhone.

The app makes one kind of network connection: when you open Extras, it asks Apple what the purchase costs and whether you already own it. That goes to Apple under your own Apple Account and carries nothing about you or your answers. Everything else — the estimate, the tracker, the emergency contraception windows, the test date — works with no connection at all. See the privacy policy for the detail.

That means nobody at our end can see it. It does not mean it is beyond reach: anyone who can unlock your phone can open the app, and local storage is not legal privilege. See the privacy policy.

Can I use this to check on a partner without telling her?

No — don't. Her cycle, her age and the date of a sexual act are information about her health, and they are hers. Only enter them if she knows and agrees. This app is not for monitoring anyone, and it is not for making decisions on anyone's behalf. The decisions the result screen describes — emergency contraception, testing, what happens next — are hers to make.

Can I use the tracker as contraception?

No. Calendar methods are among the least reliable forms of contraception. Ovulation moves. The tracker is there to help you understand a cycle — never as a green light.

The estimate seems too low / too high

Every number comes from the same four-step calculation, and the app shows you all of it in the Method tab. There is no hidden model. The figures are approximations of population averages, not individual predictions, and illness, stress, travel, weight change, PCOS, thyroid conditions, recently stopping hormonal birth control and postpartum recovery all move ovulation in ways no calendar can see.

What is Extras?

Extras is a one-off purchase — not a subscription, and nothing renews. It adds the depth around the estimate: how much the figure moves if her cycle is a different length, combining more than one date in the same cycle into a single figure, how much her cycle varies, the tracker's predictions, saving estimates, the app lock, and a summary you can hand to a clinician.

The time-critical things are free and stay free: the estimate itself, the emergency contraception options and their windows, when a test becomes reliable, the warning when her cycle details make the estimate unreliable, the full calculation, and logging in the tracker. Nobody should have to pay to find out the clock is running.

I bought Extras and it is locked, or I have a new iPhone

Open Extras and tap Restore purchases. The purchase is held by Apple against your Apple Account, so it restores on any iPhone signed in to the same account, at no further cost. If it still does not unlock, check you are signed in to the Apple Account you bought it with, then get in touch.

Extras needs a connection only at the moment you buy or restore. Once it is unlocked it keeps working offline.

I want a refund

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — we never see the payment and cannot process one. Use reportaproblem.apple.com, or Settings on your iPhone, and follow Apple's process.

I need an actual answer

Take a test, or speak to a doctor or a pharmacist. This app is for information only and is not medical advice. If the consequences of being wrong are serious, act on a test — not on a screen.

Reporting a problem

If something looks wrong, the most useful things to include are:

• Which screen you were on.
• Your iPhone model and iOS version.
• Whether you were using a large text size or VoiceOver.
• What you expected to see, and what you saw instead.

Please don't send us personal details you would rather not share. We do not need anyone's real dates to investigate a layout or wording problem.
